Cruise across tranquil Plaza de Ramales to Almudena Cathedral with its impressive twin bell towers, and onwards to Plaza de Oriente where huge statues of gothic kings seem even more impressive in the evening twilight.

The Royal Palace’s grand, illuminated facade is a favourite for selfies, and its elaborate Sabatini Gardens are particularly handsome at dusk.
